Flu season usually starts in November and lasts through early March. The best way to protect against the flu is to get a flu shot each year. Everyone 6 months and older should get a flu shot. You should be first in line for the flu shot if you:
- are pregnant,
- are a child between the ages of 6 months and 5 years old,
- are a caregiver of a child less than 6 months old,
- are an adult over 50 years old,
- live in a nursing home,
- have a chronic medical condition or
- have conditions that can cause breathing problems.
Call your doctor to make an appointment today. The flu shot is free for members at most family doctor offices.
