Dedication to quality

Select Health of South Carolina uses a Quality Improvement (QI) Program to monitor, evaluate and improve the quality of health care our members receive.

• Committed to quality care HEDIS results (PDF)

We monitor services to ensure they:

  • Meet quality guidelines
  • Are appropriate
  • Are efficient
  • Are effective

Overseen by the Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement Committee (QAPIC), our QI Program's purpose is to improve the quality and safety of clinical and behavioral health care provided to our members. Each year, the program sets and achieves goals that improve member health outcomes and services.

Through this program, First Choice by Select Health is the highest nationally ranked health plan for South Carolina Healthy Connections at #61 on the National Committee of Quality Assurance's (NCQA's) Medicaid Health Insurance Plan Rankings 2013-2014.* Select Health also holds NCQA's Multicultural Health Care Distinction.

*The South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS) uses other criteria for evaluating and ranking the performance of health plans serving Medicaid beneficiaries. To view these results, please visit www.scdhhs.gov/reports-statistics.
